Our Umbanda church:
Céu das Artes

“Céu das Artes” is the name of our Umbanda church that reflects its mission and purpose. Umbanda is a syncretic religion that originated in Brazil that brings together elements of African, Indigenous and Catholic beliefs, practices and rituals.
The name “Céu das Artes” translates to “Heaven of the Arts” in English. This name represents our idea that the church is a place where the arts and spirituality come together to create a harmonious and uplifting experience.
The use of the word “Céu” implies that the church is a place where individuals can connect with the divine and find inner peace, while the use of “Artes” suggests that the church is also a place where individuals can find inspiration and joy in the arts.
In Umbanda, the use of music, dance, and other forms of artistic expression are an important part of the rituals and ceremonies. It is a way to connect with the spirits and the divine. For this reason, the arts play an important role in the church and its spiritual practice. The combination of these two words, “Céu das Artes” creates a name that represents the idea that our Umbanda church is a place where individuals can connect with the divine through the arts, and find inner peace and inspiration.
It is a place where the beauty of the arts and the transcendence of spirituality come together to create a meaningful and uplifting experience, and where the belief in the spiritual entities, also known as Orixás, of Umbanda are honored and worshipped. A place where we explore the rich spiritual tradition of Umbanda and the beauty of the arts.
Our prayer
This precious prayer is an integral part of our philosophy. We believe that all children of the world have the right to ask for these very simple but meaningful things in life, here on planet earth. Therefore we open and close our works by saying this prayer together.
It was channeled by one of our spiritual teachers, who received it from her spiritual guide, caboclo Tubinambá.

In the Umbanda religion, Caboclo Tupinambá is considered to be a spiritual entity or “entity of nature” known as a Caboclo. Caboclos are spirits of indigenous people who are believed to be wise and powerful, and who offer guidance and protection to those who seek their help.
Caboclo Tupinambá is often depicted as a warrior and a protector of the forest and its inhabitants. He is associated with the elements of nature, such as the wind, the rain, and the sun, and is believed to have the power to heal and to bring balance and harmony to the natural world. He is also honored as a symbol of resistance against oppression and colonization, and as a reminder of the rich cultural heritage of Brazil’s indigenous peoples.
This prayer encompasses the things that all the children in the world have the right to ask for:
Life
Health
Happiness
Open Path
Health in the Body
Peace in the Spirit and
Love in the Heart
It is This that we wish
For ourselves,
For our loved ones,
And for all of our brothers and sisters
So be it
